INITIATIVE
Youth Gun Violence Prevention
Overview

What We Do
We develop programs and policies that enhance and expand violence prevention efforts. We focus on implementing community-designed solutions that are effective, sustainable and informed by academic research.

How We Do It
We work with NY Cure Violence sites - public health programs that conduct violence interruption and street outreach with youth involved in gun violence - with the goal of creating solutions that help youth transform their lives.

Understanding What Works
We designed a custom database that promotes the ability to enhance effectiveness, inform policy and manage program performance.

Our Lens
We cannot allow youth to believe violence is a normal part of life.

"It's always been like this. I'm scared one day it could happen to me, but it's normal, like hearing cars honking their horns. It's never going to end." - 15 year old Harlem resident

Our youth deserve better.
