Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Award
The Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Award recognizes pioneering leadership in the field of criminal justice. The award honors the history of the Crime Commission as it traces its roots back to the late 1800s, when the New York Society for the Prevention of Crime helped bring down Tammany Hall and install Theodore Roosevelt as president of the New York City Board of Police Commissioners.

In 2015, the Crime Commission honored Preet Bharara, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Throughout his career, U.S. Attorney Bharara has embodied the spirit of the Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Award as he works to combat corruption in city and state government, fight gang-related and other violent crimes, reduce financial fraud, and improve the court system.

Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to criminal justice innovation.

The 2015 honoree, Robert S. Tucker, CEO of T&M Protection Resources, served on the Crime Commission's Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015. He has dedicated his career to improving public safety, implementing innovative ideas at the Queens County District Attorney's Office and assisting corporations and individuals respond to the threats and risks of the 21st Century.

The event was held overlooking the city on the 35th floor of the Mutual of America building, where representatives from New York City's law enforcement and business communities joined the Crime Commission in paying tribute to the honorees.
