ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY November 26, 2018 Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Award The Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Award recognizes pioneering leadership in the field of criminal justice. The award honors the history of the Crime Commission as it traces its roots back to the late 1800s, when the New York Society for the Prevention of Crime helped bring down Tammany Hall and install Theodore Roosevelt as president of the New York City Board of Police Commissioners. In 2018, the Crime Commission honored NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio. Distinguished Service Award The Distinguished Service Award is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to criminal justice innovation. In 2018, the Crime Commission honored Lewis Rice. Corporate Leadership Award In 2018, the Crime Commission honored Pfizer (accepted by John. Clark, Chief Security Officer). The event was held overlooking the city on the 35th floor of the Mutual of America building, where representatives from New York City's law enforcement and business communities joined the Crime Commission in paying tribute to the honorees. |
